Hurricane Season 2025 – Preparation, Cleanup & Considerations for Sarasota & Bradenton

The of HavaHand holding Stihl chainsaw.

The last few years have brought ample reminders that Sarasota, while traditionally lucky, is not impervious to hurricanes or severe weather. Ian, of September 2022 was no party. The unprecedented flooding brought by Debby caught many off guard who despite residing in Sarasota for decades, had previously seen nothing comparable. Then Helene and Milton passed through, causing coastal flooding and washing entire homes into the gulf.

The damages of Helene, notably on Siesta Key, left indelible marks on both the landscape and minds of many. For months proceeding, Siesta Key resembled a surreal mixture of apocalyptic yardsale and mismanaged landfill. Then followed Milton, one could say, for the sake of excess.

In the coming months, there will be residents of Bradenton and Sarasota that will require assistance with preparations. It is unpredictable, but not improbable that some will also need help with cleanup.

As a one-man operation without truck or trailer, there are some situations I cannot readily accommodate. However, I have two professional chainsaws and most of the equipment necessary for prophylactic and post storm applications. From tree work to boarding windows, my prices where the task is within my capabilities, are difficult to beat with the quality and results of my work considered. And as I have mentioned, if for whatever legitimate reason you are in desperate need, yet unable to find or afford critically needed help, I do volunteer when able. As just one guy, I cannot guarantee availability, but it may be worth inquiring.

If you are thinking about preparations in advance, whether it be pruning menacing branches, moving furniture, boarding a window or anything else, I’m available to assist where I can.

Please note that I have certain customers along with family that I must devote most of my efforts to in times of emergency. I will do my best to accommodate everyone, but I may not always be able to do so impromptu.

So if you need a hand, call me any time and HavaHand!

Stay Safe,
