Please note:
My equipment is limited to a station-wagon with racks and the tools/equipment that it can carry. Presently, I do not have a trailer to carry the types of equipment that would require one. Where such equipment is provided, I will gladly and respectfully use it, whether the customer’s or rental. For transport or moving jobs, a truck or appropriate vehicle will need to be rented, or provided if needed. For trees or quantities of debris from land-clearing, demolition, etc, hauling will need to be arranged if exceeding what the city or county will accept. Also note that: HavaHand cannot provide any services requiring a permit or special licensing (contractor, etc.), except for Class A/B CDL transport.
- GARDENING: Manual Weeding; Proper Pruning/Hedging — No Slash & Gnash; Planting; Yardwork; Fertilizing; Amateur Tree Work/Trimming; Etc. *Note that Sarasota now prohibits the use of plastic bags for yard waste; therefore paper bags (not very flexible, durable or useful), bins or bundling methods must be used. For a Shrubbery, I refer you to Roger the Shrubber.
- REPAIRS & PROJECTS: Minor Household Repairs (not requiring license); Fences; Miscellaneous Projects/Builds; etc.
- LANDSCAPE/TREE WORK: Planting/Removing; Mulching; Chainsaw Work; Amateur Tree Trimming/Chainsaw work; Storm Cleanup; Etc. Note: Sarasota Waste Management no longer accepts plastic bags for yard waste, therefore; bins, bundles or highly inefficient paper bags must be used. For tree trimming/land-clearing, the debris will require other arrangements for hauling. In some cases involving medium to small palms or small trees, I am able to remove the roots. With large palms, there may be limits and I am generally unable to remove whole root systems for medium or larger trees.
- CLASS A/B CDL TRANSPORT: Class A/B Tanker, Doubles/Triples, Flatbed, Dump, Dry Van transport. Truck must be provided.
- WINDOW CLEANING…Plus: Gutters; Roof; Indoor/Outdoor; and… Just about anything accessible with a 22′ ladder or a bit of elbow grease.
- General Labor: if it needs to be done and I can do it, I probably will.
- MOVING: Small to medium moving jobs. Additional help can usually be acquired with advance notice. Truck will need to be provided or rented if needed.
- PAINTING: Interior/Exterior Painting. Roller & Brush only — No spraying.
- Temp Work: Are you a business owner seeking reliable temporary help? If the job is accepted, all tasks will be performed to the business owner’s exact standards. The job will be done your way and done correctly.
- Custom Crafts: Utensils, Art, Jewelry, Various things of various materials
Miscellaneous…
Welding: Years ago, I passed an unofficial 6G test with TIG on steel pipe. Probably not fit for nuclear, but I can TIG both steel and aluminum for non-critical purposes. I’ve MIG welded and had fair results and even have an old machine, but don’t know how to properly configure or maintain it. I can run stick, but poorly. If you have the machine and something to weld, I’ll give it a go.
Heavy, or not-so-heavy Equipment: Bobcat, front-loader operation, with a reasonable level of competency.
Volunteering: I will volunteer my time, tools, knowledge and efforts, when time permits, to the following incomplete list: The significantly needy, disadvantaged or financially restricted. Conservation. Interesting projects. People who can teach me things.
Linux/Tech: Interested in Linux? Me too. With over a decade of experience in Linux, I’ve primarily settled in Debian, but have worked with Slackware, Arch and other distributions. I have an A.S. in IT, but am a bit rusty. However, I can often accomplish basic-to-intermediate tasks in Linux, Android (e.g. ADB Debug) and even Windows… when I have an iron stomach.
If something on this list is missing, feel free to ask.
